Esmeraldo, the son of the internationally highly successful Emerald van't Ruytershof out of a dam by Caretino / Lord / Landgraf, not only catches the eye with his exceptional markings. Staphan Haarhoff, the Holsteiner breeding director, described this exceptional young stallion as extremely typey, with impressive scope and outstanding quality at the jump.
Sire Emerald van't Ruytershof won numerous Grand Prix under Harrie Smolders and was 2nd in the World Cup Final in Gotheburg. in the World Cup Final in Gotheburg and a participant in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, his offspring are doing the same and are already successful at championships and 5* competitions.
The damsire Caretino was internationally successful under Bo Kristoffersen and is considered one of the greatest sires in Holsteiner breeding. His blood is regarded as a guarantee for willingness to perform and outstanding rideability.
The legendary foundation stallions Lord and Landgraf complete the pedigree.
Holsteiner dam line 4847 has been carefully maintained by the Meyer family and has produced the stallion Cachas as well as internationally successful sport horses such as Cellagon Corray, Cornela, Conga LS, Quintender LS, and Chacon LS.
Esmeraldo received top scores not only for his jumping at his licensing but also stood out very positively in the evaluation of his movement and breed type.
Under saddle, he confirmed his outstanding talent: he won his stallion performance test with an exceptional overall score of 8.93. The evaluation commission awarded scores of 9.0 or higher four times. His canter received a 9.0, rideability a 9.2, and both jumping ability and willingness to perform were rewarded with a 9.3.
At the age of four, he confirmed this result during his sport test. The judges awarded him an 8.8 for rideability, 8.5 for both canter and jumping, and 8.6 for the overall impression.
A complete stallion that combines the best characteristics of the Holsteiner horse.
The first foal crops of Esmeraldo have fully met expectations: with a very broad mare base, he consistently stamps his offspring with his type. Correct in conformation, with harmonious lines, good neck set, very modern, and often with a touch of color, his offspring have achieved victories at foal shows and top prices at auctions throughout Europe.
From his first licensing crop alone, several licensed sons have already emerged, including the Reserve Champion at the Czech Warmblood licensing in 2026.
