With Chintoki VDL, we are proud to present our breeders with another modern and highly interestingly bred young prospect.

His sire Catoki was internationally successful and ranked among the world’s elite showjumpers for several years. Under Philipp Weishaupt, he won team gold at the FEI World Equestrian Games 2014 and team silver at the FEI European Jumping Championships 2013. He stood out for his exceptional carefulness, lightning-fast reflexes, and remarkable consistency at 1.60 m level. His jumping style was characterized by outstanding technique, great awareness, and tremendous fighting spirit. In breeding, Catoki is also regarded as an important sire of high-performing and careful showjumpers.

Damsire Chin Chin enjoyed a highly impressive sporting career. In 1988, he won five consecutive competitions in the North American League and competed at the Olympic Games in Seoul, finishing 6th. Four years later, he competed again at the Olympic Games in Barcelona. In 1990, Chin Chin and Jaime Azcárraga took part in the inaugural World Equestrian Games in Stockholm. In both 1989 and 1990, he also achieved placings in the World Cup Finals in Dortmund and Tampa. To this day, Chin Chin is regarded as a foundation sire of modern showjumping genetics.

Maternal grandsire Nabab de Rêve was likewise highly successful at international 5* level. He won numerous major international competitions and secured team bronze at the World Equestrian Games in 2002. That same year, he was named “Horse of the Year” by the sBs studbook and, in 2010, was honored as a “BWP Ambassador” in recognition of his lasting influence in breeding.

Chintoki’s dam line is equally significant. His dam, Angel van ’t Hof, was highly successful under Niels Bruynseels; the pair achieved top placings including in the 5* Grand Prix of ’s-Hertogenbosch and on the Global Champions Tour in Shanghai and Mexico City.

Granddam Ochin vh Schuttershof is the full sister of the stallion of the century Kashmir van Schuttershof, who was successful in Nations Cups under Philippe Lejeune and is especially renowned as the sire of top horses such as H&M All In, Rêveur de Hurtebise HDC, and Gazelle. Another full sister of Ochin vh Schuttershof is Sissi van Schuttershof, who achieved international success at the highest level under Jur Vrieling.

Chintoki himself presents as a modern sport stallion with excellent overall harmony. He stands in a rectangular frame, impresses with well-balanced body proportions, and is overall athletic and functionally built.

In free-jumping, Chintoki demonstrates lightness and elasticity, combined with a powerful, uphill canter with very good rhythm. His jumps are powerful and consistent, with a clear bascule and active hindquarters. Overall, the stallion convinces with harmonious technique, elasticity, and evident joy in jumping.
