Diamant van Klapscheut Z is an exceptionally athletic stallion, blessed with extraordinary reflexes over fences and rideability of the highest calibre. He impresses with sensational front-end technique, outstanding form, and exceptional carefulness at the jump.
A model student with a picture-book career. He won young horse show-jumping classes from Class A through M in succession. At the World Championships for five-year-old show jumpers in Lanaken, he qualified for the final with two outstanding clear rounds. At the ages of six and seven, he also achieved international success on the Youngster Tour. At the age of eight, he reached the international 1.45 m level and collected numerous top placings, including in Riesenbeck, Lier, Bonheiden, and Klein Roscharden. He also secured the bronze medal for his rider Thea Jelcic at the Hanoverian State Championships for Female Riders. At nine, he made the step up to three-star level. He finished second in the Grand Prix of Scharnebeck (S***) and confirmed his consistency with numerous further international placings.
These qualities are firmly rooted in his outstanding dam line, which could hardly be stronger. His dam, Ko-riana van Klapscheut, was herself internationally successful as a young horse up to 1.40 m level under Arnaud Gaublomme. With Orlando van Klapscheut, Carlo van Klapscheut, and Diamant van Klapscheut, she has already produced three offspring successful at 1.50 m level.
His granddam, Coriana van Klapscheut by Darco, is a true phenomenon. With both Eric Lamaze and Pilar Cordon, she achieved wins and top placings at 1.60 m level in five-star competitions in Spruce Meadows, Verona, Lummen, Aachen, Wellington, Gijón, and many other venues. She produced the 2017 World Champion of seven-year-old show jumpers, Koriano van Klapscheut by Lord Z, who has since gone on to compete successfully at 1.60 m level, as well as further offspring successful at 1.60 m level.
His great-granddam, Uriana van Klapscheut by Heartbreaker, also competed internationally at 1.50 m level. As the foundation mare of the family, she has produced numerous offspring and grandchildren that have achieved success at 1.60 m level.
The sire Diamant de Semilly himself enjoyed many years of success at the highest international level under Eric Levallois. He ranks among the top ten stallions in the WBFSH ranking of the world’s most successful show-jumping sires.
The maternal grandsire, Cicero van Pamel, is also of great interest from a breeding perspective. This son of Carthago also ranks highly in the WBFSH rankings and enjoyed a successful sporting career at 1.60 m level under Dirk Demeersman.
The maternal great-grandsire, the legendary and renowned Darco, is one of the world’s most famous show-jumping sires. Himself a competitor at European and World Championships as well as Olympic Games, he has left behind countless offspring who have dominated show jumping at the highest level, competing successfully at 1.60 m.
The first four-year-old offspring of Diamant van Klapscheut already achieved successful placings in young horse show-jumping classes in 2025.
Clearly marked by their sire’s self-confidence, they demonstrate an exceptional willingness to perform, together with instinct and lightning-fast reflexes over fences.
