With Brantzau, we are able to offer you the bloodlines of Olympic champion Baloubet du Rouet combined with those of the legendary sire Carthago. He descends from the highly successful Holsteiner Stamm 104a. The foundation mare of the line, Retina by Ramzes AA, won the German Show Jumping Derby herself under Fritz Thiedemann and was one of the finest show jumpers of her era. Particularly noteworthy among the international top-level performers descending from Retina are Corradina and Corlanda.
With a jumping technique of the very highest quality—light-footed and featuring a powerful, wide-opening hind end—Brantzau impressed with his talent from a young age. He was a serial winner in young horse show jumping classes, achieving scores of up to 9.3. At the ages of six and seven, he successfully competed nationally and internationally on the Youngster Tour.
His first offspring have already reached Grand Prix level at 1.55 m. More than 50 of his offspring are currently competing successfully in international sport, ranging from young horse classes to the highest levels of competition. He reliably passes on his exceptional jumping ability. In 2025, for example, he produced the State Champion of the five-year-old Holsteiner show jumpers with Brillant Nessaja. In previous years, he had already produced the State Vice-Champion on two occasions.
Brantzau’s offspring are highly popular with riders, as he consistently passes on plenty of blood, willingness to perform, and ambition in the arena. Their active, balanced canter, combined with scope, carefulness, and a powerful hind end, makes his offspring an absolute recommendation for international sport.
His offspring are proving themselves not only in sport but also in breeding. With 11 licensed sons—including the 2022 DSP Licensing Champion Stallion in Neustadt-Dosse—and 20 award-winning daughters, Brantzau has established himself as a complete sire.
